Why your citrus and cactus should never share the same valve
Citrus Tree Watering Guide

Citrus trees require deep, infrequent watering to develop strong root systems. In Scottsdale's desert climate, this means dedicating separate irrigation zones specifically for citrus.
Water Requirements
Citrus needs 4-6 inches of water every 7-10 days during summer, delivered slowly through drip emitters to penetrate 3-4 feet deep.
Saguaro Cactus Irrigation
Saguaros are adapted to minimal water. Over-irrigation is the #1 killer of mature cacti in residential landscapes.
Minimal Watering
Saguaros need only 1-2 deep waterings per month in summer, and none in winter. Separate them completely from lawn zones.
